UNCHARTED / INEXPLORÉ
UNCHARTED / INEXPLORÉ is an international composer-performer workshop, born from the visionary collaboration of Dr. Mary Finsterer and the inaugural ensemble Artistic Director of Kaléidoscope Musical, Normand Forget, at the Conservatoire de Musique de Rimouski, Canada. Originally entitled Le Piano Rue!, this unique platform was established in 2021 and offers emerging composers the invaluable opportunity to have their compositions workshopped and performed by the talented students of Kaléidoscope Musical in an online setting. Since 2023, under the inspired direction of Dr. Louis-Philippe Bonin, our international workshop continues to flourish, staying true to its founding mission of fostering innovation and artistic exploration.
UNCHARTED / INEXPLORÉ encapsulates the spirit of constant discovery and creative adaptability, principles forged in the crucible of the Covid 19 pandemic where lockdowns occurred throughout the world. As the programme evolves, it remains dedicated to seeking fresh perspectives in both music and life. This initiative aims to unite musicians across borders, cultivating a global exchange of ideas while celebrating the unpredictable journey of artistic creation. In this spirit, each composer crafts a 3-minute piece, which is then honed through workshops with Kaléidoscope Musical before being premiered at the Conservatoire de Musique de Rimouski.
Emerging composers are invited to join this journey into the unknown—where challenges spark growth and creativity knows no bounds. Limited spaces are available for 2025, so please reach out to info@maryfinsterer.com to enquire about applying.
